The only rule is to have fun, keep an eye for you threads and be always in stitches.
Pick 15 projects that are ALREADY STARTED and FINISH them.
ha, there you are, my challenge to you. Not new ones coz we all know there are far more than 15 to which we would like to start.

February's Update...

I have made major progress on BRD "A Little Quakeresque"...

I was able to finish almost all of the outer framing on the Quakeresques, until I ran out of the Twilight floss, just a few stitches shy of a full finish! I am now waiting for my reinforcements to arrive from 123stitch, that is, whenever the postman is able to dig his buggy out of the PWS (as Jayne would say).

Not much more to report...

Socialsue's WIP

This is one of my challenge for 2013.  I am hoping to finish this by end of Jan but I didn't realize how long it would take me to stitch.  So far, it is only 1/4 done.  The red leaf on top is in the middle of the design.  I am working my way from bottom to top.  This design is from Japan so I have no idea what the title is as I can not read Japanese writing.  But I call it "Red and Yellow Maple Leaves".

First Finish Of 2013

It was a good weekend to stay inside and stitch, which is just what I did...and put a finish to my "Downton Abbey ABC Sampler"

My assistant and model...

A close up...

I still giggle every time I look at poor Mr. Pamuk...what a cad!

Speaking of Downton, did you watch last night's episode? Poor Edith, my heart just broke for her!

So, there ya have it, my first finish for the year.

A hearty "Thanks" goes out to our dear Jayne for leading us all in another year of endeavors...here's to ya!

Here's to a Great Stitchy Year!

Since I was away from this blog for most of 2012, I've decided to start the new year off right with a renewed interest in working on my WIPs/UFOs and posting on this blog.  Unlike in other years, I've made this list more realistic and included several projects that are close to completion in order to increase the likelihood of finishes.  Here's the 15 projects I've selected to finish (or at least attempt to finish) in 2013:

Letter G Fairy -- Nora Corbett  (10% complete)
December Word Play -- With Thy Needle and Thread  (5% complete)
Primitive Wizard of Oz -- Midsummer Night Designs  (45% complete)
Christmas Sled Stocking -- Dimensions  (2% complete)
Polar Bear Snow Globe -- Bent Creek  (60% complete)
Tis the Season -- Blackbird Designs  (25% complete)
It's Cold Outside -- Blue Ribbon Designs  (45% complete)
Soft Spring -- Shepherd's Bush  (80% complete)
Noah's Ark Mantle -- Bent Creek  (40% complete)
Red Thread Series -- Bent Creek  (85% complete)
Purple Snowman -- Shepherd's Bush  (60% complete)
Sleigh Ride at Dusk Stocking -- Dimensions  (2% complete)
Winter Wonderland -- Blackbird Designs  (15% complete)
Christmasland -- Raise the Roof Designs  (85% complete)
Halloweenies -- Plum Street Samplers  (20% complete)

I'm looking forward to finishing up some of these projects in 2013 and reducing my stash.

Happy New Year everyone ... here's to a great stitchy year!

A finish!

Well, I didn't end up reaching all my goals, but I have another finish. Cirque des Carreaux by Ink Circles. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2013!

Friday, December 21, 2012

Well, here we are

Can you believe how quickly this year has passed by? I know I have a hard time with realizing that in just a few days it will be a brand new year. Imagine that, two years of this Challenge and we are still finishing off the unfinished goodies. One thing is for sure, this year I did not attend to my UFO's as hoped and for that I am sad, however I was able to spend a good first 4 months of 2012 working on two pages of Xmas from HAED and another two pages from Northern Tranquility of Shinysuns. From there I worked up a Wedding Row from Bent Creek and then an "off the top" wedding sampler for special friends,  stitched on CONNECTICUT (M M Waldock Designs (formerly Oberlin Samplers)), stitched up 4 Friendship, the Trilogy from Heart in Hand for the Four from Forest. On July first, I began Regal (the eagle) for my Leroy's birthday/pc free day, many ornaments, a couple of birth samplers with an "off the top" safari theme, two Christmas samplers and finished off a ton of Christmas ornaments. *and I am sure to have forgotten one or two other little goodies along the way! Not bad for loosing that lov'n feeling half way through the year. Funny how the health of a loved one will do that eh?!

My intentions for 2013 are to become more diligent with stitching on some of the golden oldies in my stash pile and the fact that so far, I don't have any weddings to attend to or other such special occasions, those intentions may come into an honest action moving forward. I do believe that Northern Tranquillity will be on the top of that pile again.

So, with all of this said and done I truly hope everyone has made a dent in their own piles of UFO's and will join us again in the new year with another list of "to~do's"...
Merry Christmas 2012
&
Cheers to Happiness, Health and Love in 2013
